If you are a fan of the most beautiful art museums in the USA then you really want to visit the Philbrook Museum of Art which was built by Edward Buehler Delk as a project for Waite Phillips.  Phillips made his money in the oil fields and hired Delk to not only build Villa Philbrook but also Villa Philmonte and the Philtower office building.

In 1938 Waite Phillips donated the villa of the 72 room mansion and surrounding 23 acres of grounds to the city of Tulsa for an art center.

G.W. Exotic Animal Park – Wynnewood, OK

Located just of I-35 at Exit 64, the G.W. Exotic Animal Memorial Park a 16-acre, non-profit park housing more than 1,000 exotic animals and other wildlife. Animals include more than 150 big cats including tigers, lions, panthers, leopards, and mountain lions. Other species include bears, bobcats, wolves, reptiles, exotic birds, camels and more. Most of these animals have been rescued from abuse or abandonment or re-homed due to the economy. Group tours and programs offered.

Following the death of their son who was killed by a drunk driver, Francis and Shirley Schreibvogle took their insurance money and started the park as a memorial to their son. Garold Wayne, their son, had loved animals and dreamed of going to Africa and seeing the animals in the wild.  As a memorial to him they take in abandoned, neglected or unwanted exotic animals to give them a good home.  The park has more than 108 living memorials, over 1000 animals from 128 species residing at the park.
